sweat and surprises

have you ever seen the movie dreamer? charlottes web? uptown girls? well these three movies and my day today have something in common…give up? dakota fanning!
i worked out with kamilah barrett at cardio barre today and lets just say i need to get in shape. they had me doing all these things that only gumby should be able to do (i am not the most flexible person in the world). high leg lifts are not my strong point. the work out is absolutely amazing and really fun. i also realized that it is pretty easy to work out in a group of people because you know youre not alone, and the natural competitiveness that we humans have kicks in and makes us work out even harder. after finishing up the abs and cool down segment of the class, it was time to go. our class gathered our things as a new class came in and started stretching. kamilah had told me that she worked with dakota fanning before at cardio barre, but nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen. i looked over my shoulder at the next class and saw dakota stretching in the exact spot that i was just in. kamilah introduced us and i got the chance to tell her how much i admire her and her work. i am very proud of myself for keeping my cool- after all shes just a regular girl with great talent and a really awesome job. what a great opportunitiy :)

first impressions

hello los angeles! dont worry, your first impression was gold. it was nighttime in the city by the time we were heading home for the night so i was warmly greeted by bright lights and busy streets…not too shabby :) it was roughly a twenty minute drive from the car rental place to the condo where we were staying while shooting crashcourse, so i decided to sit back and enjoy the view.
i finally took my eyes off of the city to glance the clock…and it seemed as if an hour and a half had passed. no, that cant be right. they said it was a twenty minute drive. as i turned my attention back to the city, i began to feel like everything in la looks exactly the same…wait a second…”didnt we pass this place before?” not only has my dad never used a gps system before, but apparently neither had my manager at the time- the man in charge of directions for the night. i decided to see what was going on and took the garman from the front seat. “well, guys…i think i found the problem…” i flipped the garman a full 180 degrees and said as kindly and straight faced as i could, “its upside down.”
