this week has been absolutely insane….gradually becoming more and more unbelievable as it goes on. it started out with my very first interview for a newspaper…which now, i can say i’ve completed four. on friday, i had my first solo t.v. interview on paula sands live. last night, i had my very first concert….which was accompianed by my first encore and signing session!! it was so amazing to meet everyone who came to support me at the show- my fans are the best! and today, just when i thought the week couldn’t get any more exciting, i recieved a letter in the mail from the only college that i applied to (not necessarily suggesting that route to anyone out there looking at college…haha) with the opening word of “Congratulations” on getting into their school of music!
You think it’s over? I thought it was…but nope! My week just got even moreunbelievable!! Within the last half hour, my EP was posted on iTunes! You should definitely check it out when you get the chance- it’s called “My Kinda Beautiful”. I got to work with some amazing people on it including Rob Hoffman (Christina Aguilera), Dave Aude (Pussycat Dolls), Griffin Boice, and Eddie Galan & Steven Schneider (High School Musical), and had an fantastic time creating and working on it : ) it was made in part by the energy produced from frosted flakes, nuture valley bars, gas station french vanilla cappuccinos, fruit, and lots and lots of chinese take out, so i’d like to give a special shout out to the companies who make those!!!
i am so thankful to be able to get to see all of my hard work beginning to pay off, and i would just like to thank you all so much for your support! you are the reason that i get to do what i love! i thank God everyday for the gifts he has given me, and the gifts that he has given to everyone. we all have a purpose, and i believe that i have found mine : )
my advice for the day?

…”Superstar” caught the attention of Hollywood producers. Using her middle name,Regan, last fall Ms. Walter spent a week in L.A., filming a pilot episode for a planned new reality series about making it in the music biz.
“It was really fun, pretty crazy,” the 18-year-old Pleasant Valley High School senior said recently. “The whole thing is basically showing the growth — you see me auditioning and, at the end, see me performing on stage. It’s pretty cool.”…

with just seconds left of the decade, america is gathering together to celebrate the new year. dreams of rebuilding, hope of grand miracles, and attitudes filled with positivity are lighting up the night sky as we bring in 2010.
these dreams, hopes, and attitudes are courageous and strong, as it seems everywhere you look the top events of the past decade are all on the negative side. the top contenders are pretty consistent with september 11th, hurricane katrina, the economic crisis, major rise in gas prices, and war with both afghanistan and iraq at the top of the lists… but where on that list does advancements in technology and communication lie? and where does the election of the united states’ first african-american president stand? some pretty epically good things went on this decade… so where are they going to be showcased?
we can not only hope that this decade will be better and filled with joy and happiness, but we can make it filled with joy and happiness. some attitudes need to change, others’ attitudes need to be spread- they are contagious, believe me! just imagine… this could be the decade that changes the face of the earth forever.
we can be at peace with one another.
we can all help each other and become a warm-hearted community.
we can find true happiness.
we can all love one another.
we can achieve our dreams.
we can showcase the good.
it’s not up to the person two houses down, your educator, your boss, or even the people in the white house.
it’s up to you.
you can make a difference. so, even if you already have a new year’s resolution that your set on fulfilling, please add this:
i hope you have a happy new year, and a positive and brighter decade!

merry christmas!
i’m sitting on my bed hanging on to dear life to get this blog posted by the end of the day. my puppy is curled up against my side out cold. i think she was asleep before she even jumped into my bed…i might have been too. it’s a sleepy household
i love christmas. i love my family and our super cheesy “family hugs”. i love talking to my sister on the phone who can never make it home for christmas because of her job. i love the excitement my other sister’s kids wake up with and the screams and expressions of joy they have when seeing all that santa brings. i love oversized sweaters, boots, and knee-high socks that peek out just a little at the top of my boots. i love my green fuzzy blanket and my dog who’s currently curled up on it, sleeping against my legs. i love hot chocolate and the cinnamon rolls that my mom only makes on christmas and my birthday. i love snow, and although it’s very cold to the touch, i love the warmth it brings. i love the simple things about christmas time.
christmas is a time for family. it’s a time of celebration. a time for hope, peace, love, joy, faith, and tranquility. it is the one time of year when families get together and show their appreciation for one another. what many people don’t understand is that this appreciation does not need to be shown through material items and can be shown throughout the entire year, not just on this special day. it can be shown through pure love, a positive and helpful attitude, and simple acts of kindness. in my book, that’s the way to go. i know it’s fun to get new things… and it’s okay to get new things, but don’t lose sight of why we give gifts on christmas- to represent God’s wonderful gift to us on this day…his only son.
i hope that you, your family, and your friends are having a wonderful christmas season and that you were able to enjoy the simple things in life on this great and joyous day.

it’s another time in my life for an important birthday- eighteen. it’s the year when people frequently use the phrase “i’m legal”, complain about their first jury duty call, and most importantly, vote. i’m having a hard time grasping the concept that i am now considered an adult. yesterday i was just a kid! it’s so weird how it changes overnight…i can’t decide if i like it or not.
last night was the closing night of our school musical- seussical. if you know the show, i played the awkward bird gertrude who falls in love with horton the elephant. it was such a fun character! anyways, after strike (when you take down the set) everyone came to my house for a cast party. we had a dance party in my basement and danced to “wannabe” by the spice girls at the turn of my birthday…a song that my friends and i were all obsessed with when we were little. after most people left, some of my best friends stuck around, and we listened to songs from our childhood. the artists included a*teens, backstreet boys, brittney spears, n*sync, steps, s club 7, christina aguilera, dream, nobodys angel, hilary duff, avril lavigne, b*witched, spice girls, and many others. (ps…what was up with the * trend? i have never realized that before!)
its sad to think that my life as a kid is technically over, but we all know that im still a kid at heart. i cannot wait for the next presidential election where i will make my voice heard and vote for my favorite candidate. my seventeenth year was more than i can ever ask for- recording my first cd, being chosen for a reality tv show (crashcourse), having my first tv interview, opening my own website…it’s absolutely crazy to think about! i cannot wait to see what my eighteenth year brings!

wanna meet my new band?! it currently consists of three boys who just so happen to go to my school and are in my graduating class…one of them even sits next to me in a class- ironic much? john is the rhythm guitarist and the leader of the group. he’s full of energy and loves to work the stage. chaney is the drummer and is a good sport when it comes to dealing with our jokes. he’s very energetic and is very eager to learn new things. winston is the bassist and is probably the most laid back of the group. i sit next to him in my tech class and thought he was the quietest kid i’d ever met…i was wrong. he is definitely the funniest out of all of us and has the quickest wit that ive ever wit-nessed…haha…get it? sorry…i must be tired.
so today the boys and i went out to lunch to break up the rehearsal schedule and gain some energy. i drove and was sitting at a stoplight when i saw john out of the corner of my eye look back at winston and chaney with an uneasy look. directly after the look i overheard “don’t tell her” from the back seat.
me: “don’t tell me what?”
winston: ”oh, it’s just that car over there looks like a yellow jacket” (points to a black and yellow car)
me: “oh”
john then began to fumble with the skylight buttons, and i looked up to see what he was doing but found a nice fat yellow jacket directly above my head…let’s just say the boys lost some of their hearing that day, and the road became a little less safe as i tried to dodge the bee.

i guess i knew i had to leave l.a. this whole time, but i kind of ignored it- i was having way too much fun to even begin to think about leaving. i’m home now, but i had a little surprise when i walked in the house.
as we pulled into the garage, i noticed a sign on the garage door that said “welcome home poppy, gigi, and regan!” (from my niece and nephew-they’re adorable). i thought to myself, awh thats so sweet and proceeded to open the door. i stepped through the doorway to find heart shaped balloons all over the house (i love hearts), streamers lining the doorways, a single multi-colored rose on the table in the hearth room, and signs created by the hands of by best friends and family members hanging on the walls. they read different phrases from “regan rocks” to “we’re so proud of you!” to “welcome home “superstar”" (song title, clever!).
it meant so much to me to know that i have people here at home that support me
and that they were thinking of me while i was away.
i am very thankful for them and am truly blessed to have them.
